We're based in California, but we often have customers asking if we ship all the way to Iowa, or even as far as New York. Of course we do! Here's a little story about a very special customer, and how we help keep them aloft on the other side of the world.
Mission Aviation Fellowship: MAF is a worldwide not-for-profit team of aviation professionals providing air transport in places of deepest human need – remote places where flying is not a luxury, but a lifeline. For over 60 years, MAF has flown over rivers, jungles, mountains, swamps and deserts to bring thousands of men, women and children medical care, emergency relief, long-term development and hope.
They began by providing aviation services to the Christian missionary community, and have expanded to become the widest spread "airline" in the world, serving over 1,800 communities. Based in Idaho, MAF operates a large training & support center there.
Today, MAF Bangladesh makes more than 750 flights each year, serves at least 60 different humanitarian, medical and mission groups and transports around 2,500 passengers.
MAF Bangladesh operates the Cessna Caravan, a nine seat turboprop, but in a different configuration than normally seen. Because of the vast network of rivers in Bangladesh, this Caravan uses amphibious floats, enabling it to take off and land on both land and water.
Because of the remote nature of their operations, MAF needed a reliable, controlled source of jet fuel for the Caravan. They had previously refilled the plane's tanks out of 55 gallon drums of fuel. This method was time consuming, dangerous, and inconvenient. We worked with them to outfit a custom TransFueler jet fuel mobile trailer perfectly suited to their unique needs.
